Very compact in size at 128mm x 182mm (5 inches x 7.2 inches), the JB6 paper format has an area of approximately 0.0233 square meters, placing it on the smaller end of the Japanese JIS B paper sizes. With its space-efficient dimensions, JB6 can accommodate applications like notes, tickets, receipts, and small brochures or inserts where minimal footprint is necessitated. Part of the standardized JIS B series that originated from post-WWII Japanese industrial standardization efforts, JB6 upholds the traditional "Kiku" aspect ratio of 1:√2. Though not seeing extensive global adoption compared to ISO sizes, JB6 serves an important niche role for precision small-format printing purposes across Japan and the East Asian region. It enables efficient use of materials when very compact papers are required.
