The JB2 paper size has dimensions of 515mm x 728mm (20.3 inches x 28.7 inches). With an area of approximately 0.375 square meters, JB2 is the third largest of the Japanese JIS B paper sizes. JB2 does not have any common alternative names. Its sizable dimensions make JB2 useful for a variety of printing projects from posters and graphics to book printing and commercial applications that require substantial area. As part of the standardized Japanese B series, JB2 maintains the traditional "Kiku" aspect ratio of 1:√2. The origins of JB2 trace back to Japan's adoption of the German DIN standard in 1951 and subsequent adjustments, leading to the formalization of JIS Japanese Industrial Standards by the 1970s. While not globally popular compared to ISO sizes, JB2 serves an important role in industry printing applications across Japan and the East Asian region.
