JB3

The JB3 paper size has dimensions of 364mm x 515mm (14.3 inches x 20.3 inches). With an area of approximately 0.1875 square meters, JB3 is midsize within the Japanese JIS B range. JB3 does not have any widely used alternate names. Its medium size makes JB3 a versatile format suitable for needs like magazine and catalog printing, informational posters and displays, office documents, and various commercial printing applications. As part of the standardized Japanese B series, JB3 carries on the traditional “Kiku” aspect ratio of 1:√2. The history of JB3 traces back to Japan’s 1951 adoption of the German DIN standard which was later tweaked into localized Japanese Industrial Standards including the JIS B sizes by the 1970s. While not globally popular compared to ISO sizes, JB3 holds an important role serving printing and stationery needs across Japan and the broader East Asian market.
