This business card format originated from the MSZ (Magyar Szabvány) paper size standard used in Hungary. The MSZ utilizes the GOST standard that was common across Eastern Bloc states. It was selected as an ideal middle-ground - slightly larger than ISO A8 to fit more information, but remaining highly portable.
